When did Naruto fall in love with Hinata?

Naruto Uzumaki's feelings for Hinata Hyuga developed gradually over the course of the series, culminating in a clear realization in The Last: Naruto the Movie. Unlike Hinata, who had harbored feelings for Naruto since childhood, Naruto remained oblivious for most of the story.

Hinata's admiration for Naruto started when they were children. She was inspired by his determination and refusal to give up, despite the way the village treated him. However, Naruto initially viewed Hinata as a shy and kind friend, never recognizing her romantic interest in him.

The first significant moment that hinted at Naruto’s growing appreciation for Hinata was during the Chunin Exams. When she fought Neji, Naruto passionately encouraged her, showing genuine concern for her well-being. This marked the beginning of his respect for her strength.

During Pain’s invasion of Konoha, Hinata bravely confessed her love to Naruto before sacrificing herself in an attempt to protect him. While Naruto was deeply moved by her words and actions, he did not immediately reciprocate her feelings. Instead, he was consumed by rage after seeing her hurt and unleashed the Nine-Tails' power.

It wasn’t until The Last: Naruto the Movie that Naruto truly understood his love for Hinata. The movie explores their relationship in depth, showing Naruto initially misunderstanding love as something superficial. Through a genjutsu-induced vision of Hinata’s memories, he sees how much she had always cared for him. This realization leads him to acknowledge his own deep feelings for her.

In the final act of the movie, Naruto openly confesses his love for Hinata, and they share a kiss under the moonlit sky. This moment solidifies their relationship, ultimately leading to their marriage in the epilogue of the series.
