How old was Neji when he died?

Neji Hyuga, a prodigious member of the Hyuga clan in the anime and manga series Naruto, died at the age of 18.

His death occurred during the Fourth Great Ninja War, specifically in episode 364 of Naruto Shippuden, titled "The Ties That Bind". This corresponds to chapter 614 of the manga.

Neji sacrificed his life to protect Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuga from an attack by the Ten-Tails, controlled by Obito Uchiha and Madara Uchiha. The attack consisted of wooden spikes, which Neji intercepted with his body, ultimately leading to his demise.

At the beginning of the original Naruto series, Neji was 13 years old. In Naruto Shippuden, which takes place after a time skip of approximately 2.5 years, he was 16 years old. By the time of his death, two more years had passed, confirming his age as 18.

His last words to Naruto emphasized his belief in Naruto’s destiny and the importance of protecting his friends. He stated, “Because you called me a genius.”
